Ha! You can take the girl outta the Ghetto but you can't take the Ghetto outta the girl!

Oh man...I think I might puke.

I was reading an article about how not to get sick because I HATE the thought of germs and this is what one part of the article said.

"If you had X-ray vision," says Dr. William Schaffner, professor and chair of the Vanderbilt Department of Preventive Medicine and vice president of the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases, "you would see a cloud of viruses around them. Every time they exhale, respiratory viruses come out, extending about three feet, creating a cloud around them."

VOMIT!

Proposition 2

I hope all of you are planning to vote this election day and when you do I hope you'll be voting yes on prop 2. You can check out the website here. It's basically to help prevent the cruel treatment of farm animals and improve the health and safety of our food. Even if you aren't big on the whole animal cruelty thing, everyone should be about improving the conditions our food is raised in so that it prevents the spread of diseased animals that can ultimately make humans sick.

Take some time and check the site out. Be forewarned some of the pictures are kind of hard to stomach.

The perfect little house.

Buying a home has been on my mind a ton lately. I think I am at that stage in my life where I want to start making a place for myself and since I don’t see myself getting married any time soon, I want to start moving towards that on my own. It’s been on my mind a ton lately; where I want to live, the kind of house I want, the homey feeling I want it to have, etc. I think I have it all figured out in my head, and then when I meet Mr. Right he’ll just fit right into my perfect little house and life!

I’ve decided that I want a little old house. Not really a fixer upper because I just don’t have the time but something kind of like a Craftsman bungalow. Kind of like Jacob and Theresa’s house for those of you that know them.

I want it to have a cute little 1950’s style kitchen complete with old school appliances, (or the ones that look old school but are new and don’t have the old school appliance problems.) I want it to have a cool oven with two doors and an old refrigerator. I want it to feel like my grandma’s kitchen with wooden cabinets and pretty white curtains. I want there to be a rug in front of the sink that my dogs lie on while they watch me cook dinner and hope for little pieces of food to fall off the counter.

Then the rest of the house is much less specific, for some reason my kitchen is huge to me. That's probably because of the amount of time I spent in my grandma’s growing up. I want a kitchen table for everyday meals and a dining room table for special occasions. Oh…and no TV in the kitchen!

I want a little backyard and a porch…a porch would be awesome. I could sit out there with my dogs lying inside the house just on the other side of the screen door and crochet on a lovely autumn or spring day. That would be amazing. Even better would be if I had a view of the mountains, or a lake, (like this picture I took on my last camping trip.) That would totally be icing on the cake.

Then someday when I’m married I can get up early on Sunday mornings and turn on some Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, or some other old country music crooner, throw on an apron and make breakfast for me and my husband in my perfect little house.

Yep…that’s what I want.

"Mother tell your children not to walk my way."

Danzig came on the radio on my way to work today. Not gonna lie, kind of made my morning.

It's freaking hot!

Blah...

Tim Armstrong...marry me.

This past weekend was jam packed with so much that I’m a little overwhelmed just thinking about it but in retrospect, it was an awesome weekend. It went a little something like this.

Friday night…please refer to the post below with the ice packs…

Saturday was my sister’s baby shower. Since I planned her shower I still had a ton to do when Saturday morning rolled around. I was up at 7 and packed up the car and headed over to Albertson’s to get balloons and then to pick up my brother at his dad’s house then over to my mom’s. Grabbed my mom and headed over to Sam’s Club to pick up food and cupcakes and headed back home. We stopped to grab Jack in the Box and made it home by 9:45. Then there was all that get ready party stuff to do, I got changed just in time for the first guests to arrive. It was a great day full of games, presents, food, presents, family and friends, presents oh and did I mention, presents? Liana really got a ton of stuff and it was so nice to see everyone. I think my niece is going to be the best dressed baby on the block.

Then that night some of us headed over to Red Robin to celebrate my mom and my Aunt Karen’s birthday. I was so tired by then but it was nice to see them laughing together. I’m sure when I’m 50 and Liana’s 39 we’ll be the same way! Haha. Crazy age difference.

I got home at 9:30 and was in bed by like 10 I was so tired. Sunday I got up bright and early to head over to Anaheim to have breakfast with my friend Ricky who was here from Seattle for Gay Days at Disneyland. We had an awesome breakfast at IHOP and we laughed a ton and talked about how we might lose our jobs soon and about any and everything you could think of. He is an amazing person and I always love to see him. It’s so strange to think that in his life he has to make these decisions that are similar to decisions I make everyday but I never really think twice about whereas he has to think extra about how these same decisions would affect him because he's a gay man. A good example; I never think twice about where I wanna move to I just look at places I think would be cool but Ricky and I were talking this same topic I realized that Ricky has to think about how friendly the community he wants to move to will be. Tolerance is something that’s really taken for granted in California. I think we forget that other places aren’t as diverse and welcoming as we are. Oh and he came over to see me sporting his Gay Days t-shirt, which was awesome. I’m so glad I got to see him, it was a great morning.

Then on to some work at home, no fun at all, but that’s ok because I spent my night in anticipation of probably one of the best shows I have ever been to, MxPx and Rancid at the Henry Fonda. I went to the show with amazing people, got to sit in the balcony like the true old person that I am, played some MASH with Natalie, IM’ed a ton with Corre because he was four people away from me and then best of all, enjoyed what really was just an awesome show by MxPx and Rancid. Both bands played a ton of old stuff and it totally took me back to high school and just feeling like a kid again. I can’t even really say how great they were, but I’m afraid to see them play again because if they aren’t that good then it would just be disappointing. Oh...and Tim Armstrong...so dreamy. haha.

So yeah…basically, it was an awesome weekend.

Coincidence...I think not.

"Thirteen years to the day after O.J. Simpson was acquitted in the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, he was found guilty of kidnapping and armed robbery in a Las Vegas courtroom."

I'm so clumsy.

I fell in the parking lot at work yesterday. I know, I know...this kind of thing only happens to me. I have a messed up left knee and messed up right foot which means that I can't really walk. So here's what my current view looks like. Don't you wish this were you?

Please support my friend Jason and TOMS.

My friend Jason will be taking a trip to Argentina to hand out shoes to kids for TOMS shoes. For those of you who don't know about TOMS you can check them out online, but basically for every pair of shoes you buy they give a pair to a child who doesn't have shoes. It's a really cool organization.

But...back to Jason...he's got a website up where you can make a donation to Jason to help raise money for his trip to Argentina. I know that there are a lot of you who are looking for a worthy cause to give to and this is definitely a great one.
